Paris, France – 16 July 2026 – The Federation of European Producers of Abrasives (FEPA) is pleased to welcome Winterthur Technology Group as a Direct Member, a manufacturer of grinding technology solutions for a range of industrial applications, with particular expertise in bonded grinding tools. With production facilities in Austria, Germany, Sweden, USA and China the company brings recognised manufacturing experience in abrasive products used in demanding grinding applications. Its roots go back 150 years, when its Austrian predecessor Rappold was founded .

As Precision Grinding & Finishing Business it has been formerly part of 3M but has been re-established as independent and focused bonded abrasives company in April this year.

Winterthur Technology Group has a historical connection with FEPA, having been among the companies involved in the federation’s early years.  Its renewed membership reflects a continued interest in European technical cooperation and in the common work carried out within FEPA on standardisation, safety, regulatory developments and good practice.

As a Direct Member, Winterthur Technology Group will take part in FEPA’s technical and regulatory activities, joining other manufacturers and experts in discussions on topics affecting abrasive products and their use.

Eric Verhimst, President of FEPA, commented: “We are pleased to welcome Winterthur Technology Group back to FEPA. This renewed membership builds on a long-standing connection with the federation and reflects the value of technical cooperation within the European abrasives industry.”
